orange spiral

Orange Spiral pastel painting
7″ x 15″ daily pastel painting
surface – Wallis pastel paper

Preparation for this painting was fun. I first had to figure out how to peel the skin in a spiral. After that I took various composition photos of the orange, some of which you will see in later posts this week. For this painting my husband held the top of the peel for the photo.

My daughter said that it reminds her of a seahorse.

For the next month I’ll be busy working on more still life pastels in preparation for the group show at Preservation Framers in North Attleboro, MA. The show is entitled “Women in the Arts” with the opening reception on March 5th.
If you live in or near Massachusetts you may want to stop in. Matt and Rob put on amazing shows!

If you have an interest in purchasing this painting please contact me and we can mark it sold. It will be sold as a framed piece through the gallery.
