shell and cloth

shell and cloth daily pastel painting
8″ by 9″ daily pastel painting, unframed

The first time I ever painted a cloth was in art class at the Worcester Art Museum school. It was the first lesson in my painting class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. That was many years ago when I was in my early twenties.
I still find the subject challenging and I love a challenge.
I choose the shell to add a contrasting texture. I think it works well!

This is really beautiful. I love the contrast between the two textures.
