Time for Coffee

5″ x 5″ unframed pastel / NA

Day four of 30 paintings in 30 days sponsored by Leslie Saeta. I didn’t have the right color for the coffee so as frequently happens, I needed to blend my own. Layers of black, brown and purple gave me the rich color.

I’m learning more about myself that I care to admit from 30 in 30. I’m really awful at managing my time. Committing to finishing a painting a day is helping me schedule my time better for larger works and commissions. I’m realizing that I have more time than I thought I did. I’m also finding short cuts in my technique without sacrificing quality.

I started “daily painting” in 2006 with dailypainters.com. The closest I got to my present goal was 28 paintings in 31 days for October 2006. Here’s the link.
I’m rebooting my goals to complete more than my average.
