“13 Rocks” acrylic painting on wood board
10″ x 10″

The rocks are gradually becoming more of a passion to paint.
I ran out of my usual surfaces to paint on so I used a wood board which I bought at an art supply store and primed it with Gesso.
The grain of the wood shows through which at first I wasn’t sure I liked. As I continued painting it started growing on me. Rocks and wood being both outdoor elements go together quite well and I think they work in this rock painting as well.
Because of it’s size I wasn’t able to scan this for the best color representation. In the actual painting there’s a bit more of a transition from blue to yellow in the background. It’s close though!
