The Monarch butterfly has always been among my favorites.  I’m still experimenting with watercolors. I start out wanting to paint looser and more abstracted but I naturally go for more detail. Maybe I’ll try a looser style on the next one.

I wasn’t totally committed to using the stipples of color in this one as I was in the Adonis Blue.
I’m still not quite sure about it mostly because of the color choices. But what’s done is done with watercolor. Overall I’m happy with it.
