I’m devoting some time to landscapes because we live on such a beautiful planet and I feel that I need to grow as an artist. Landscapes frequently scare me off. I’ve often agreed with Georgia O’Keeffe when she said that New England is too green. This lonely tree in a field is at the community gardens in my town. There was definitely too much green in the photo so I stretched the boundaries as far as I was comfortable with my colors and shapes.
Through this process, it became more about the feel than the accurate representation of the place. I could stretch the boundaries further but I’m happy with the result.
